This is one of those games where you wish both teams could lose.....but it is so sweet when the tan one and his team go down.......

butchbadger

Tommy  Naismith unveiled some of the worst zone defense I have ever seen today.  Jason Bohannon shoots well with nobody within 6 feet of him.  DJO would score 50 vs that team.

The Badgers could've scored 120 today if they wanted to.
II is awful, awful.

PuertoRicanNightmare

Does any coach get his doors blown off more often? You'd think players tune out the horse's ass...or something like that.

I LOVE IT!!!!

LCDutchman

Chipos get off the ledge!  PU Tommy CCubed (Crean Can't Coach) Crean got a whoppin from the Badgers.  So much for the program getting better.  Pat Knight whisper continues.

Yawn.  Y'all must love staring a car crashes.  Worse the better eh?

HoopsMalone

It helps our SOS to have Wisco win.  Thats all todays game really means.

Not much "We are getting better" tone to this article:

http://www.insidethehall.com/2010/02/13/hoosiers-show-lack-of-pride-in-blowout-loss-at-wisconsin/

Crean's second best strength after being a good salesman and CEO was motivating players to play hard.  Not good if he has lost that touch.

4everwarriors

No surprises here. Crean's just an average recruiter and just a terrible game coach. Players should be catching on to his crap about now.

Crean could only suck from the Dwayne Wade teat for so long.  What have you done for me lately?

reinko

Hey Pickle,
I'm sure Crean could at least spell Dwyane correctly.

DiaperDandy

Couple a Crean loss with a MU win tonight and I will be a happy camper :)

I think TC has regressed as a bench coach.  He sort of became a mad scientist after the Final Four, fell in love with the idea of revolutizing college hoops with 3 and 4 guard line-ups, deflections and more.  He has seemed consumed with inventing his way rather than just coaching hoops.  You can say it was all D Wade but I think we all know there were enough of games where Wade was neutralized (SLU and Holy Cross come to mind) and we were still a good team.

I really thought he'd improve after MU b/c it would be a fresh start and he could do things at IU that he became too proud to do, like hire an older assistant to X & O.  Apparently, I was wrong.

Wade was neutralized as a high cost to SLU and Holy Cross...

I agree, one of the worst defensive performances I've seen....not since Bo Ryan had a chance to double team the only play on Kentucky that could possibly beat them, Marquis Estill, have I seen a worse performance on defense.

IU looked bad.  I'm still glad Crean recruited Hayward, Acker and Cubillan to Marquette....they're doing very well for us now and Buzz is using the superbly.

LCDutchman

Chipos go back to bed and take your Tan Tommy doll with you.  Crean recruited and misused Wes Mathews horribly.  Thank you Buzz for great coaching this year.

I think the "Lens" has some good insight here.  You could argue the Final Four year was a bad thing for Crean in the X & O area as it convinced him he was right.  The reality is that he is just okay in that area.  He could have gone to Indiana and been a less of a control freak and had some assistants play big roles in the X & O area, particularly on offense.  Alas, he appears to be making the same mistakes he did whilst at Marquette.

Not saying he will not be good at Indiana but he hasn't shown improvement (as a coach) which limits his ceiling.

akmarq

That crushing silence is the sound of most of the Marquette community not caring what happens two states away at a bad out of conference school.

Buzz is using the Crean-era players very well.  We can all be happy for many of the players Crean got and for the chance he took hiring the former UNO coach as an assistant.

So....most Marquette fans dont like Crean. Why? I'm not a fan of him because he's always seemed over the top with his sideline antics(Hi five'ing indiana fans behind the bench and such)

I didn't mind him really or anything he did at MU.  I appreciate all he did for the program.  But I thought the way he left MU was completely classless and showed how little he cared about not only the university but his kids.  I am happy to see him failing at IU... it serves him right.

Couldn't have said it any better. Now, when will we be able to get a shot against IU? That would be something fun to watch.

He's dead to me. For years he extorted MU out of more money and years as he was putting his name out there for other jobs. My feeling is that when he put his name out for II, MU didn't bite and he left us high and dry. He let his players know through the media. I love watching him crash and burn

However, I do like that he gave a guy like Buzz a chance to make him look extra silly
