420 degrees of difference

Well said.  That's like even better than 360  ;)  No wonder he came back.

mwbauer7

If it is true Jeronne did not want to leave, and his father initiated the demands, and Jeronne wishes to come back and Tim agrees to stay out of it. I'm all for his return.

If all the speculation about why he left is true, then the right thing to do is help him back into a situation where he can succeed without the chains of his father.

Hell, maybe his father could learn a thing or two, too.

Acker did leave the team and then came back.

Over the summer.  Not missing any official practice or game time.  Plus, as I said, he never left Marquette, he just wasn't going to play on the team.

i would be very suprised if he comes back. But, Jeronne has not made any public comments to burn the bridges, unlike his dad.

It could very well be that the phone is not ringing off the hook with good options for Jeronne. Even so, a return is probably a real longshot.

vacinator

Has Tim Maymon said anything negative about MU or Buzz?   I read the stuff about playing time and position - but so far from what I have read both sides have taken the high road. I am not surprised about Buzz doing this  - maybe Tim is trying to keep the door open.

I don't think Tim Maymon will never change, so how does one set certain conditions?

if you think he can change then why cant conditions bet set?

martyconlonontherun

Tim Maymon doesn't have to change, but they can ban him from the BC and the Al. That's good enough for me if Jeronne is willing to accept that

If he comes back, do the haikus & limericks come back also!?!

The Mo Acker "leaving" was totally different.  420 degrees of difference

hint hint, wink wink, nudge nudge

I feel sorry for Jerone, but the best thing for him is to go to C. Florida or anywhere he is out of his father's reach.

NCMUFan

Maybe for whatever reason sometimes life is complicated.  Hence, if Buzz, Jeronne and Tim can have an eye to eye things can be worked out.

MUFan11

Even if JMay comes back would it be a positive or negative effect?  He is a decent player and has some size that we need so those would be plusses. On the other hand i don't think team leaders like Lazar and Jimmy will like the fact that somebody quit on them and the team and now gets to come back

wadesworld

No way in hell my son is coming back.  We do that and we risk him starring in the league as the next best shooting guard.  We're taking this thing to the middle of Florida, where the Jordan's and us are going to the Final Four BABY!

Pablo Escobar's got a couple lines you can cook up and sell.

That comment was priceless Tim Maymon

If there was any chance of turning this around, I believe they would have tried that before releasing Jeronne.  If it come sdown that Jeronne was truly caught in the middle. the father confessed, and Buzz wanted him back, fine.  I hate to see the kid int he middle, and from all the reports, it seems like he might have been.

But I have to say I would doubt a return because of the relatively quick release.  But then again, what do we know?

wadesworld

We did our job at Marquette.  We wanted to see Vander have success, and he'll be able to play 4 years at Marquette.  We know he would have never been successful in that boring, slow, white-boy offense they run here in Madison.  We also knew that we would be leaving for the league after the 2nd semester anyway, so why waste our time now that Vander hopped off the short bus and joined the big boys?  I've already talked to multiple NBA scouts and the Nets and T'Wolves are battling it out for us.

We would take Vander with us, if NBA rules allowed for it.

This speculation borders on surreal.

If it was all his father, then possibly.

If he did come back, MU should re-package the program and call it "Barnum and Bailey's Greatest Circus on Earth"
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

I prefer "The Tim Maymon Freakshow" as it's more descriptive and let's us know up front who the real star of the show is.  Plus there's no way Barnum and Bailey would want their name to be in any way associated with TM.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Must be a slow night at the apollo.

Acker was completely different, he realized his mistake while sitting on the pot.

Acker was completely different, he was blazing his own trail.

Acker was completely different, he wasn't too good to mo his own grass.

Acker was completely different, he didn't stand by idly bye while others PARTOOK in bad behavior.

I don't see why you can't take a kid back just because his dad is a jerk.  TM spent the last week calling schools that he thought would be ecstatic to hear from him.  How do you think those calls went?  You all think it's impossible to come to a realization of how far off he was?  He probably was on hold trying to get through to Tubby when it dawned on him that he was screwing up his child's chances.
I don't think he needs to fundamentally change as a person to be manageable.  Take him back, give him 4 tickets per game half a section up and tell him his dad shouldn't show up at the Al unannounced.

+1

If Tim was the main reason J-May got booted, then I wouldn't have an issue with bringing him back.  Just because the father is over zealous, doesn't mean the son can't find some success.

Reminds me a little of the Sean OHair story. And yes I know golf is an individual sport, and bball is not.  But Sean's dad controlled every aspect of his life including pulling him out of school in order to work on golf.  Evidentually Sean managed to escape that relationship and has done quite well for himself.
