Guy who can't spell has a spell check request
« on: February 02, 2010, 11:58:53 AM »
Mods, is it possible to add current players names to the spell check?  It seems odd that Cubillan is still considered a misspelled word.

It's possible, I'll have to remember how I did it in the past...

In firefox you just right-click and pick "Add to Dictionary" but that's exclusive to your computer.

Correct, but I believe he's referring to the the forum "spell check" button - which I have to manually modify.

that's for people who don't have access to their hosts dictionary.. since we have a dedicated server we can manipulate the dictionary itself which is better.

Trust us, we got it .. just give us a little time to get to it ;)

Just making sure :)  That thread I linked had suggestions on changing the config file as well as modifying aspell.  Rocky seemed to be trying to remember how to do it so I figured I'd link him since I had it bookmarked.

I'm not trying to be a know-it-all.  I've been running an SMF forum since 2006  (edit:2005 looking at our archives... bleh, time flies) so I pop in here in case you guys ever need a helping hand (and it's interesting since there's not many people I can chat with about this sort of stuff).  I didn't mean to step on anyone's toes :)

oh hey no worries.. we've been doing this only a few years and haven't necessarily had to modify every detail yet so any suggestions are always welcome!
