OT - ackers little sleeve thingy
« on: November 24, 2009, 09:38:42 PM »
what is the purpose of that white sleeve that acker wears? it doesn't seem like it would help anything... and it looks really really dumb. Is it like a fashion thing trying to look like AI or something?

From my understanding, it's a compression sleeve that's supposed to keep the body part underneath it warm.  It probably also acts as a support for his elbow ala knee sleeves if he has poor joints.

Nothing about him looks dumb when he goes 3/4 from 3 point range.

Yes.  I am more concerned with how our guys play than what they wear on court.

DJ did the same thing. It didn't do much to help his shot.

ummm... a dome question? i think you meant dumb but i don't see how that's even related.

i understand the one that lazar wore for a while last year, and the one that lebron wears, that has the pad on the elbow, but ackers is just a little sleeve

it might be a comfort level thing. Rip Hamilton wore a facemask even though he didn't need to because he was comfortable with it on and uncomfortable with it off.

I thought Rip wears the mask because he's broken his nose so many times and it is now extremely fragile?

Nope, it is now superstition. He just feels he plays better with it on.

I hope to God they don't turn the heat up any more than it already is, or they'll have to hire someone to follow Buzz around to squeegee the floor.
