This morning it read "Is wishin he was rockin 23 for the golden eagles next season"

Love it!! and Wes.....You're not the only one!!

Robyrd5

I saw that too. Nice to know the feeling is mutual.

Am I the only one who views that quote as kind of sad?  It actually sounds like he's come to the realization that his post-college basketball career may not be the one he envisioned.

Pepperoni_Cannoli

Unfortunately, I agree with The Sultan.  It's not good for recent college graduates to wish they were about to repeat senior year.

Exactly what I thought.  I'd love to see Wes suiting up for us too, but that FB status makes me think that he won't be rockin' 23 or any number for anyone.

CAINMUTINY

Way to be glass half empty.  I just thought the interesting part was how much the kid loves MU.

GGGG

I'm glad the kid loves MU too, but look at the context.  He wishes he were playing for MU...right in the middle of his NBA summer league season.  He should be looking forward to the next stage.

NavinRJohnson

What a tremendous job of over analyzing a relatively meaningless comment.

Hey, if someone can post the "meaningless" comment, I can certainly over analyze it.

{Juggernaut}

I don't think he is over analyzing anything.  I got the exact same thing from the comment as sultan did.

How do we know he's not talking about Southern Miss?

Skatastrophy

Even though I was looking forward to my first job out of college I certainly missed the camaraderie of having thousands of people my age all around me.

Wes is having to work his ass off, and for the first time in a couple years he's having to do all of that work without his best friends around him 24x7.  Who in their right mind wouldn't miss that, even if they were drafted instead of having to try out?

I wish that I were back in college.

If I were back in college I would miss making enough money to do whatever I wanted.

Just because I miss one doesn't mean that I forsake the other.

I'm a recent college grad, I miss college... why isn't this good?  I wish I could still have zero responsibility, party 3 nights a week, live with a bunch of my friends... its the good life.

I'm a 25 year grad and I wish I could go back to that time.

As I sit in my cubicle on a rainy gloomy day - damn right I wish I was back at MU.

I long for the day when a time machine is invented so that I could travel back in time and be a regular college student again.

Sadly, my time machine prototype has not worked yet.

No offense, but I find these kind of sentiments about as sad as Wes' facebook status.  Sure, I had a blast in college.  But I stopped wanting to go back pretty soon after I left.  Life's better now by a long shot.

dbwarriors

I could go back to college (MU) any day, but I would only do it via a time machine.

MR.HAYWARD

3 nights a week ...wow!!  Mu has gone soft.

Whatever. I graduated 12 years ago and I sometimes wish I was going back for my senior year, and I have a very successful career, great wife, fun life, etc. But you just can't beat college, especially senior year. (Cue Asher Roth's "I Love College.")

No offense to you, but then you probably didn't have as much fun in college as could've or should've had.

I had a great time in college.  However when I graduated, I decided that instead of wishing that I was back there all the time, to actually *use* my Marquette education to make my life even better.

Too bad all you seemed to get from Marquette are memories.

There is no reason you can't have an awesome life but can't wish you were back in college somedays.  There will never be another time in your life where you'll be around a couple thousand people the same age as you, have no real responsibilites, and be able to go out 4-5 times a week (if not more).  I
