I'd feel much better if the cat was spending his time fixing the economy rather than taxing his noodle with some stupid basketball bracket.

Everyone has time for a basketball bracket.       However it does concern me that he's up to date with player injuries

Give me an F'ing break.

Get off the soap box and let the Prez enjoy some BBall for an hour or so.

AZWarrior

I am happy to have him spending his time on the pool.....    ::)
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

As the first paragraph of the article slyly noted, it is one campaign promise he has kept  ;D    Now.....about his picks....we will soon see how much of an educated basketball junkie he is .

its ok if he does a bracket...  The economy is easy.  Just spend crap loads of money.  Its easy

wow... who cares who he picks.  This is just another publicity stunt.  I guess he makes up for lack of leadership in spending trillions of unregulated money and wasting time going onto ESPN to tell America what his bracket is...turning America into a socialist country...

This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time.

It goes to show the guy doesn't live in a bubble.

Bush regularly talked baseball with everybody, rated his biggest mistake as trading Sammy Sosa, and choked on a pretzel while watching sports on tv, and some people are offended because Obama filled out a bracket.   Wow.   Total non-story.

Back to the original question, do you guys think he picked us to win?

Lennys Tap

As a politician who won a relatively close race in Wisconsin and will likely never have a legit chance to win in Utah, I'd guess he picks us.

Big Papi

What happened to his plan of implementing the college football playoff system?  I thought I read that the BCS extended their contract for an additional year or two.

I don't care if the President fills out a bracket.  However, creating an ESPN media event out of it impairs the image a president ought to present to the public, especially during times of national difficulty.  Poor judgement.

Yes... I think he picks MU to win at least in the first round.  I guess we'll find out on Sports Center at noon today.

And, I am hoping that when the 2009 Championship team visits the White House, they play a pick up game with the Prez on the new WH backyard court.  Much more interesting than the standard group photo op.

I see Obama picked Utah over Arizona in the first round.  He said it had nothing to do with John McCain!

The prior president read the box scores for the entire MLB EVERY DAY. These guys deserve a break and a distraction during the day, just like the rest of us.

SCdem@MU

Clearly if he has Memphis in the final four, then there is no way he has us going past the Sweet 16.

And yeah, I have no idea why people on this board are getting their panties in a bunch over Obama filling out a bracket. He is a huge basketball fan, just like Bush was a huge baseball fan.

You can't expect the guy to do nothing but read policy proposals and crunch numbers all day, everyone needs a break to relax and get their mind off of things for a bit, even the President.

I thought it was a pretty cool when he went to the Wizards game a few weeks ago and sat courtside for the whole game. Kind of amazing that no President had gone to a Wizards game before when the Verizon Center is like 6 blocks from the White House.

MuMark

Isn't President Obama getting all the distraction he needs this week by going on The Tonight Show on Thursday?

First sitting president to do so.......now thats change I can believe in!

I hope so, because when a Chicago political hack does anything, you know the fix is in.

Has us losing to Mizzou, cites DJ's injury as the reason.....

The difference:

Bush reading the boxscores was derided by the press.

Obama doing a bracket is lauded as "real".

sounds like it was a tough decision.

"He struggled with Marquette and Missouri in the bottom part of the bracket. He knew Dominic James was out for the Golden Eagles and, after hedging, went with Mizzou to advance to the Sweet 16."

Check out the picture.  Looks like he originally put us in the Sweet Sixteen and then crossed us out.

and for anyone complaining about the time spent on this
