I dunno what he's going to decide, but consider this: he's the only remaining recruit from Crean's LAST true recruiting class of 2007-08.

The others? Mbakwe, Christopherson and Saunders.

I wouldn't be surprised if he follows his recruiting classmates in true fashion.

It's difficult to avoid all this sepcualtion on these kids, but some part of me hates it becuase if I put myself in their shoes (which would be way too big for me), I'd feel pretty bad reding, seeing, hearing all this stuff.  From the likes of it, Hazel is a good kid.

I'm letting the powers that be decide what's happening here, but that's it.  If some kid's future is at stake, I don't want to be part of the speculation machine.

GO Marquette!

The regular season was pretty much over by 2/24.  Hazel was MIA long before that.

In case you were wondering, we got a request to hide some of these messages and have complied as a courtesy.  No need to sully anyone's reputation out in public, due or not.

To be fair, I did not see an ounce of criticism directed at Hazel in that comment. Plenty directed at Crean for recruiting him, but nothing but a statement about what he actually was coming out of HS. A far crty from 'railing on him.'

Yeah no kidding.  Not only did I not attack Hazel i never would.  As far as i know he has conducted himself in nothing but an exemplary manner.  Even though i was never a Crean fan it seemed he did a pretty decent job of making sure he recruited good kids and that they represented the University in a good manner.  I have every reason to beleive that Buzz will do this as well, the University will demand it and I have seen nothing from Buzz to indicate he would look for or ecxept anything less.

Again I am sure Hazel is agreat kid and i could never blame him for accepting a scholarship to atop BE school like Marquette.  i do blame Crean for signing a 6'6 1 star center.  My guess he does not have much of an opportunity for playin time going forward.

eliminating yet another Crean mistake

I just don't think any body likes to be referred to as a mistake.

This happens in the business world all the time.  A new regime comes in and  filters out all the old regime's staff.  I hate to see it happen to college students, but that is the real world.

With rare exception, the "real world" doesn't have a bunch of people commenting in a public forum about their job performance and potential for being replaced.

That's why I hate to see it happen to college athletes!  The coaches make the big bucks and they should expect to live under the microscope!

+1 again.  The kids get recruited and signed to the program by the guys who get paid.  They get paid to do their job well.  Recruit the right kids, or develop the kids you have recruited or are on your team.  We don't know what goes on at the practices, but unless the kid is slacking off, not trying, is a problem and/or cancel to the rest of the team, then they deserve a fair shake.

don't we need a scholy anyways?? someone's gotta go, hazel would make sense.
