MU vs. USF - Anyone Going to be There?
« on: February 05, 2009, 01:48:32 PM »
I'm flying down there and another buddy is coming from Chicago.  We are doing the MU alumni pre-party thing for $28 (all you can eat/drink @5pm, game at 7pm ET).  Wondering if any fellow-Warriors are making the trip?  (I'm new to "posting" to the board but have been reading it for over a year now).

Alumni relations said we will have ~200 people.  I have 4 in my group.  I know of another board member that is going as well.

I'll be there sitting courtside.  A buddy of mine was able to score 3 tickets from his dad who works at USF.  A rule about sitting courtside is that you supposedly can't wear the opposing teams colors.  But I'll have a Marquette shirt on underneath that I'll bust out during the game.  USF is better than their record shows...hopefully our guys aren't too preoccupied with all the tan girls in the crowd.  GO MU!

Sounds reminiscent of a Seinfeld episode.

For those staying in Tampa over the weekend, the city is having a festival saturday.

Also recommend checking out Ybor if you have enough time

In case anyone is wondering...if it is like the Alumni event in Nashville, the all you can drink portion of the deal refers only to soft drinks.

I'll be there with a buddy from Tampa.  Where is the pre-game event?

Be sure to bring a flask or two of the Admiral... or a flask of the Captain if you want to go high class.

I will be there with my wife and kids. It will be the kids' (3 and 5) first Marquette game.
By the way, unlike most NCAA sites, they do serve beer at the USF arean (The Sundome, IIRC). Unfortunately it is only budweiser.

Don't worry you're not a dick.  I never claimed that there would be no free booze, I simply said "if it is like the Alumni event in Nashville."  Which it appears by your post it was not.  And after watching the result of the game I am glad for everyone's sake that adult beverages were provided.
