"Back in the day" when my dad had season tickets, I remember going to a game at the old Milwaukee Arena (later, it was referred to as the MECCA) with my best buddy and MU lost to Creighton - it was late in the 1974(?) season I believe.  I remember the crowd was in stunned silence because we lost.  It was the first home loss in 5 years or so - maybe more.  Does anyone know how many consecutive home wins MU had - I know it was a school record.  And does anyone know what the longest home win streak ever was? I assume it was probably UCLA.  I think MU's was 70+ games.

The Wiki is all knowing... it was 18 games starting with South Carolina on Jan 20 1973 and ending with Creighton on Feb 9 1974.

spartan3186

They had won 83 straight homecames Starting Dec 20 1967 vs Villanova and ending Jan 13th 1973 however.... unless that game was @ ND and there is a typo in the Wiki then it would be 101 straight wins at home.

not sure about home win streaks, but i know UCLA's streak of 88 games from Jan. of 1971-Jan. 1974 is the longest consecutive win streak period. amazing.

here we go. according to this article written in 2000, kentucky holds the record for D-1 with 129 straight home wins!!!! spanning 12 seasons! apparently the collegiate record is held by (juco) college of southern idaho at 137 straight home games

Marquette's home winning streak was broken by Notre Dame on a buzzer beater by Dwight "Ice" Clay. I thought it was 82 games, but I could be wrong on that. I probably attended 80 of those 82 games.

ND, Dwight Clay, 81 games     I'm pretty sure Clay hit the shot that ended UCLAs 88 game streak too.

I went there from 1968-72 and they never lost a home game while I was there. I remember Dwight Clay's jumper from the corner beat us the year after I graduated. I believe mu-rara has it exactly right.
