Anyone know when Marquette Madness will be this year? Had a blast last year.

Thanks,

Kevin

It has traditionally been the second Friday or Saturday in October. It will likely be Friday, Oct. 10 or Saturday, October 11.

Daniel

I saw somewhere October 25th??

MUBasketball

I've heard Oct. 25th as well...I believe they want the students to be back in school. Where would they be a week or two before that????

OpenLook

If it is Oct. 25, that would be the latest ever. There must be some overriding reason to hold this late. Are the students on break the second or third week of October? I do remember it was the second weekend (either a Friday or Saturday) the last several years.

reinko

That could be Columbus Day weekend.  If students have off that Monday, many might go home because that is the first 3 day weekend of the semester.

PS: Eff Columbus, he and his boys used to hunt the native people on Hispanola for sport.

muwarrior87

just checked the academic year calender. mid-terms are the 9th-15th and midterm break is the 16th and 17th.

chapman

Makes sense.  There is always a Thursday and Friday off in the middle of October for mid-semester break.  But still, why not around the 11th?  Isn't midnight madness traditionally supposed to be at the first allowable "real" practice time?  I doubt the NCAA moved it back to the 25th.

🏀

I think they are dropping the whole first practice gig. I'm all for it. Make it more of a event, and drop the waiting till midnight.

StillWarriors

I called the Basketball Office. The woman I spoke with said they don't have a date set yet, but she expects they will be doing something like the traditional Marquette Madness.

esotericmindguy

Maybe because 2010 Jeremy Tyler is planning on visiting during that weekend.
