"Thomas Robinson, a 6'8", 205 pound forward from Washington, DC has seen his interest move into the recruiting fast lane, going 150 miles per hour. He has received offers from Marquette, Georgia, George Washington, Virginia, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech. Pittsburgh, North Carolina State, Boston College, Minnesota, UMASS, Drexel, Robert Morris and George Mason have all expressed strong interest, with others like Providence taking a look."

Kids plays AAU ball for a team called the Squash All Beefs.

Not sure what exactly that is, but it sounds tasty.

Another story about him:

Which assistant coach is working the DC area?  All three of the recent talked about recruits, Donald Williams, Latay Darden and this kid Robinson are from the suburb of Maryland, PG County, just outside of DC.  It is a hotbed for recruits.

You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

virgin ground for marquette recruiting!

I believe Frank Ben-Eze was from the Washington, D.C. area.

mviale

Yes, hopefully, we actually break into this market.

This is a quote from a article about his hire, I would think he would recruit the DC area?

A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Collins' recruiting ties to the East Coast played a role in his addition to Williams' staff.

Aki Collins coached three seasons at Howard University in DC, so that may explain MU's sudden involvement with players from that area.

Seems like we are going after a lot of forwards.....I agree with aobve poster - where are the guards!?

MU is after a ton of guards.  Just off the top of my head:  Darius Morris, Darius Smith, Michael Dixon, Johnnie Lacy, AJ Walton, Junior Cadougan, Chris Colvin, Sheldon Cooley, Eric Bledsoe, Xavier Thames, Justin Crosgile, Nick Russell.....and that's just the point guards, and it's not even all the ones MU has been mentioned with.

There are literally dozens of guards out there that MU is involved with right now, there just isn't much updated press or talk about them right now.  Once the articles start coming out about where they are planning on visiting and who actually has offers there will be more.

It sounds like Maymon and Williams could play guard. It also sounds like Wilson could play guard. Fulce and Butler also. What we really need is a true point guard.

I definitely can't imagine Fulce at guard, and probably not Maymon either. E. Williams, perhaps.
Regardless, as bma notes above, MU is recruiting about a dozen point guards. I'd be stunned if at least one of those guys didn't wind up on MU's roster next year.

detroitwarrior

If you build it they will come...with the addition of talented forwards in Erik Williams,Jeronne Maymon and others...the point guards will come...

I have a vision of one point guard and 4 6'7" guys on the floor.    Which is better than 4 guards and one 6'7" guy on the floor.
