Its the quote on Otule that has me worried.  Not a real confidence boost and he might be beyond a "project".  Oh boy.

Did you really expect anything more?  Otule was a late bloomer (5 ppg as a junior) who burst on the scene last July and then tripled his scoring average year to year.....he's a work in progress who won't be much of a factor as a freshman.

Burke and Mbakwe will receive the bulk of the minutes with Hazel and O'tule filling in when the time is right.  I expect Burke to have a break out senior year since it seems like he and the rest of the team have a fire lit under them and he has improved each year here. Some more consistent play like in the Madison game last year and we may have a very, very good starting lineup

Looks like Buzz likes the 3 guard set, since he said somewhere that with 3 guards playing, 2 on the bench doesn't give you much depth.  Hence, you need more than 5.

That's fine but we need him to stay in the program.  We need to have in each class a big man or two who can learn, progress and eventually contribute as a seniors.  Chris Grimm is a great example of why poor producing players transferring out is bad.  Patience with big men is key !

I don't read that at all--I think it's the same type of "don't count on freshmen" talk that applies to most players.  Some fans tend to come in with overheated expectations, and it's clear Buzz is setting expectations.

I expect O'Tule's tenure at MU to mirror Barro or McCaskill.  Limited minutes and light production his first year or two, and solid contributor down the road.
