Anyone else find it interesting that Zagoria stated Taylor was more worried about playing time at Marquette vs KU in his freshman year?

It was a nice way of saying he didn't want to come here without Crean....although if he liked Crean and wanted to play lots of minutes as a Freshman, why not go to IU?

At some point, Kansas and Hurley discussed Taylor and realized that if Taylor were interested, Kansas would have a spot open for him.  Hurley played bad cop with MU so Taylor could be released from his LOI while Kansas was still willing to offer the kid the scholarship.  The rest of the talk was b.s.

I'm trying to be objective here.  So if I were in Taylor's shoes--coming off a HS national championship--where do you go where your chances are best at a NCAA championship over the next couple of years?

I think the choice is clear and I don't blame him for it.

I don't blame Taylor at all.  The only thing that stinks about this whole process was Hurley's uncalled for comments.  There was no way MU was not going to let Taylor out of his LOI.

Hurley did not need to take shots at MU or Buzz.  MU handled itself in an exemplary fashion.

One last thing and noting my new feelings on Hurley I don't like to do it but feel I must.  If you like hoops, you must read The Miracle of St. Anthony, a year in the life of Hurley's school and program  Not only is it one of the best sports books ever written but it is simply a fantastic story.  Do yourself a favor and read it.

Hurley may be a great hs coach and a hell of a guy when it comes to helping kids in a rough spot, but that doesn't give him a license to behave like an egomaniac pimp for TT

WAIT A MINUTE!

I thought TT committed to CREAN?!? Then why is he with Self and KU and not Crean and Indiana?!?

Hurley (and to an extent, TT) I call this committment bullcrap.

Simple, he did not like Creans exit and lack of a call. He was coming to MU becuse of Crean, period. now that TC left, MU is of no interest to him.

Because he also wants to play for a team that is going to win.  This kid comes from the top program in the country.  He's used to winning.  He would have won with Crean at MU, but not Crean at IU...at least for a few years.  If you're from the midwest, especially Indiana, you're probably willing to take the losses for Good Old IU.  But from Jersey...nah.  Let someone else be the sacrificial lamb.

This kid is going to the defending national champion and will play there.

Quite honestly, I'm still surprised NW went to play for Crean because they will not be that good next year.  Obviously he's more about Crean then the winning while TT seems to be more about then winning.

Either way, it just kills me that we could have had a team with Erik Williams, Nick Williams, TT, and potentiall Jamil Wilson along with Hayward and a few others.  Wow, that would have been a nice, nice team to watch.   :'(
