I'm curious. I'm not sure I should "give away" my answer, but I found the hiring of Buzz Williams infinitely more surprising.

I understand leaving under the dead of night because Crean would not have been able to turn back a "think about it" conversation with Wild and others.

Had he left in a different manner, been upfront about it, thanked MU profusely as he should have in giving him his first HC opportunity, for a man who is concerned with his image he would have been held in a much higher regard then he will be now.

How is it not Tom Crean leaving? Did anyone here actually think he was going to take the IU job? It's Indiana, It's Indiana... I know, but no one called that, he was barely being mention. That was surprising.

However, hiring Buzz wasn't. As soon as Crean left, I knew we'd hired some assistiant. That's just thinking logically, Marquette would never make a big splash into the market. Buzz himself may have been a bit surprising, but no way it was a as big as Tommy Crean leaving.

Nothing surprises me any more. He's been dying to leave MU for the past 5 years. In the meantime his agenda was to constantly build up his resume while bs'ing his followers.
I'm just thrilled the prick is gone. Marquette is so much better off without that ass hole.

Anybody surprised that the previous coach left has been completely blind for about 4 years.

With that said, I agree with 4ever that it's bliss that he's gone. It would be even better if we'd hired a coach who doesn't have a desire to call a-hole for advice every day.

this is pathetic.  we've been reduced to taking a poll to make sure that our own feelings are valid?  What's next, sitting around a campfire enjoying some manly drum therapy while holding hands and singing kumbaya?  How blissful.

Who cares what's more surprising?

Really people, let's move on.
