...let me say that when I broke the news to my wife she replied, "[y]ou all hired the guy that went to the moon?"

I'll admit that Buzz Aldrin might be as qualified as Buzz Williams, except for the recruiting prowess.

All joking aside, please try to take a step back tonight and relax. Did we land a dream hire? No, and for that I'm disappointed. Did we land a top hire (ie. Miller or Bennett)? No, and for that I'm disappointed. Did we land the most experienced guy out of the "final four?" No, but I am not worried. If experience was all that mattered, McKillop would have been the easy choice.

The administration landed a guy that they believe in. Time will tell if they made a wise decision or a poor one. Try not to root for MU failure just to be proven right, and I will promise that I will not gloat if Buzz becomes the next big thing. We have a coach now, and despite what many think to the contrary, there is a lot about him to be excited about. There is also a lot to be apprehensive about, but that was going to come with any coach short of Calipari or Bill Self or someone else in like kind. Apprehension, albeit lessened, would have existed even witj Miller or Bennett.

Let us put aside our differences and reconcile. Buzz is the man that will lead Marquette and Marquette deserves our support.
