I realize this is pointless but I can't help but think.

What if...
... Lopez's shot didn't fall and we beat Stanford?
... we lost to Kentucky making Crean winless without Wade in the NCAAs?
... a few calls went our way in the Pitt BET game and we went to the championship?
... Iman Shumpert picked Marquette over GT and UNC?

Would Crean still be at Marquette?

Would Joanie still love Chachi?  Thank the good lord things turned out the way they did.  (Not how he left, of course, for the player's sake.  I could care less how he left, personally, considering that much of his schtick was pure showmanship).  Crean was going to leave one day or another.  He obviously did not want to stay for the rest of his life, so what difference does it make?

TC "jumped the shark" one too many times.

If Lopez had missed, you could have guaranteed TC would bolt ASAP.

If we lost to UK, it's hard to say.   IU (regardless of it's fabled lore) is in dire straits and needed to higher somebody.   TC has always been the "sexy" name and puts it out there for every job.

The BET tourney meant very little in the grand scheme of things

If Shumpert picked MU, he'd be asking for his release right now because TC would still be scouring the real estate market in Bloomington.

You can take this to the bank. Had we lost to Kentucky, I would have called for his head. Enough is enough, the post was already written.

............... ok.....your post implies that someone cares what a middle age (rapidly approcahing senior citizen), hack - with no impact on BOT - thinks. You are an anonymous internet poster for goodness sake.

Hey, to the dude with 9 posts, this old fart would have at least started a post worth reading.

I just bring up the BET, as a lot of people have mentioned how Crean may have realized he couldn't win the Big East and would have a better shot in the lesser Big Ten.  Granted they were talking about regular season.

I dunno.....that Jerry Smith thread turned out pretty weak.

I'd put "a larger congregation to worship him" as a close second, and the easy recruiting tool - that is, Brand INDIANA.
