PRN finally stops dodging the question and comes through and names who HE thinks would be a good coach for MU.  As fate would have it, that coach gets named the HC of MU and wins the 2009 national championship and of course  PRN reminds everyone of his choice the year prior.  Then, in the months following the win the nickname debate re-surfaces.  Despite winning that national championship, the coach isn't able to get the name changed back to WARRIORS.  PRN then turns on the coach and wants him fired - making weird, obsessive comments about the coaches complexion, speech, the soda he drinks during games, etc......  Five years pass and despite making deep runs in the tourney, PRN constanty rips the coach and his salary.  All the while, Crean makes IU history by failing to win a single game and gets fired.  But his legacy doesn't stop there.  Crean manages to change IU's mascot from the Hoosiers to the WARRIORS as his last order of business.  Upon hearing this news, PRN goes mental and is never heard from again but often seen dancing with Freeway at various Milwaukee sporting events.

To finish it off, karma rears it's ugly head as Tom Crean hires Joey Greco from Cheaters and fines Joanie has been frequenting Bradford Beach with many MU alums, all the while wearing a blue and gold bikini.

Nice!

Wouldn't it be bizarre if PRN were actually Tom Crean. What better way to massage your giant ego and hear people say good things about you than to instigate them with inflammatory comments.

1. There are several coaches I think would be acceptable -- McCaffrey, Brownell, Drew, Bennett (in no particular order). I don't have a true "list." New names are coming up daily (the assistant from Ohio St.) that sound good to me. There are a couple that don't. My list of names I do not want includes:

Buzz Williams
Chris Lowery
Pete Gillen
Larranaga

With that said, if one of those guys was named our coach, I would certainly wait to see what happens. But I would absolutely rip on the AD and the BOTs -- but not on the coach.

2. I have said MANY times that even if MU won the national championship under Crean I still wouldn't like him. I thought he was a jerk. I was right.

3. I don't recall ever "ripping" Crean's salary. In fact, I think I said many times I could care less what he made. I simply thought he was not what he was portrayed to be as a recruiter or as a coach. I thought his preparation was almost always his strong point. And I thought he was an ass. I was right.

4. I NEVER made comments about Crean's complexion, although others certainly have.

5. Your hypothetical situation about Crean changing the name of Indiana would have merit if you said he managed to change it to "Crimson." That would be a more apt comparison to his attempt to change our name to "Gold."

I know it's hard for people around here to admit that I've been dead on right damn near 100 percent of the time, but it is what it is.

And FreenA -- Don't quit your day job!

HA.

Well played.

And for the record... just because Tom Crean took the IU job, it doesn't mean PRN is right and that Crean has been and/or is a lifetime jerk.

I'm not saying I like what has happened... but I am saying that it doesn't prove he is as evil as PRN likes to insinuate.

Yeah, he was suspiciously defensive about the tanning thing.

PRN, not sure if you have or haven't been damn near right 100% of the time. That would seem to be quite a feat for anyone.

But you seem to be negative on MU, the coach, the program, and how things are handled damn near 100 % of the time.

Being right (if you have been right) does not make you an MU fan or MU booster.  But, it is interesting to have your opinions heard and I think that, in and of itself, is important.

Are there conditions under which you could become an MU supporter instead of an MU detractor?

Having been friends with a few players and managers I can attest to what PRN has to say about crean; The man isn't genuine and would turn his back on anyone in a second if he could, and has.

The best story I have on crean is this: I had a friend who was a manager during his freshman and part of his sophmore year; He had worked unpaid during his freshman year with the understanding he would eventually be paid during his second year.  This guy worked non-stop for the program, doing anything and everything.  One night during finals week of the fall semester crean came to him and asked him to edit some film for the next morning, unfortunately he had an exam and told crean he couldn't do it as he needed to study for his FINAL; crean's response was get it done or don't bother coming back. Well as a good student he decided that was the end of his tenure with MU basketball, no hard feelings......well when he went to get his paycheck for the semesters worth of work he had done, he was then informed that he would receive nothing.

So this is one of many stories that totally shows what a complete scumbag crean is, and more importantly how we shouldn't look back and press on for a solid season next year.

I was a manager for the women's team and I was not paid for the entire semester.  In fact, when I first started working there, I tried to hand in my hours for the entire month and they informed me it doesn't work that way.  You hand in your hours for 2 weeks and you get paid for the 2 weeks.  I think this story is greatly exaggerated.

Edit:  I will say this though.  I was good friends with a couple of the men's managers.  As a women's manager, I thought I had the best job in the university.  Hearing stories from the men's managers, I don't know how they did it and I would never have done their job.  For example, on road trips, right when they got to the hotel from the airport, the managers were told to take everyone's bags up to their rooms.  Then, everyone else took off to go eat at a restaurant.  They never brought any food back for the managers.

I have personally spoken with members of the Bradley Center staff about the treatment they received from Tom's "soul mate." Good freaking riddance!!!

Now let's go get ourselves a coach!
