No, because Gillepsie would have been hired for the Indiana job this year and we would still have Crean as our coach.

That is a tough question to answer, remeber Buzz took the UNO opportunity.  But if he and Billy gillespie both stayed at texas A&M I am quite sure he would be one of the top assistant coaches out there whose name would be poppoing up as a future sat head caoch.

But even better for Mu it did not work that way, Crean knew how good he was and brought him to MU.  And i beleive he will do a great job given the opportunity.  and like other posters have stated I thinkt he Admin realizes that williams and Taylor are probably gone and are not simply hiring him to retain our recruiting class.  that type of comment is pretty silly and underanded.  I also do not think Mu is settling...Mu could get mccaffery, Lowery, Brownell, etc. but why?  seroiusly what have they proven apart from Brownell?  Cootingham hs seen Buzz auditon for a year and obviusly has a real god feeling about him as he should.

I think Buzz is a recipient of the "Law of Unintended Consequences".  Let's hope fate plays its part here.  I have my questions all along, but he was my #1 from the start from a realistic (I felt top guys would drop out) and B-ball standpoint (stability, recruiting).

Another question is why can Minnesota hire Tubby and we hire Buzz?

Probably b/c when they hired an AD they found someone who proved themselves at Denver & Miami, OH.

Now I see why Chicos held on to TC so tight, he knew MU could screw this up.

Look, Buzz may be good but I would think we've earned our stripes to hire above the pay grade of Buzz.  That doesn't always work...hopefully this one will surprise us.
