I wouldn't mind if they put all of the pre-season tournament championships on a single banner like the post season banner.

The Lens

Or does the 2003 Conf USA banner need to be on its own when the 1994 GMC & 1997 Conf USA titles share  a banner?

Is Doc's number still retired?

Does this slow Travis's #?

Are we back to retiring numbers or jerseys?

Travis probably wouldn't want his # retired.   He's an IU guy through and through now

I was thinking about those stupid banners today.  I remembered I lauged when they unveiled that ginormous won for the 2001 GAS championship.

I really hope we aren't going to retire any additional numbers.  With the numbers already retired you'd think we were UNC or Duke with the number of championships.  Fact of the matter is that retiring a jersey should go to the few transcendent players, not entire starting lineups from good teams.

I like Travis and think he was an amazing player for us, but I don't think he meets the mark of having his number retired.  Same goes for Tony Smith, Tony Miller, Steve Novak, Jim McIllvane, or anyone else who seems to get mentioned for this honor.  All really important players, but not at the retiring their jersey level.
