Majerus: Not interested in Marquette
By Tom Timmermann
04/02/2008 2:38 pm
The thought probably crossed many people's minds as soon as they saw the news that Tom Crean was leaving Marquette for Indiana: Would Rick Majerus go back to his alma mater (and the city where his mother lives) to coach Marquette?

"I'm happy at St. Louis," Majerus told me on Tuesday. "That's all I'm going to say. I'm not interested. I'm looking forward to moving forward at St. Louis. I'm excited. We'll be good once we get going. We've got a lot of work to do right now."

Now don't go dissin "Big Splash"***  He's a friend of the program and maybe very helpful in this process.
You need to understand the process, read this

*** Big Splash = When Majerus was higher in 1983, their was a 400 pound professional wrestler called "big splash."  His signature move was to belly flop off the top of the turn buckle onto his opponent which he called a "big splash" (or however high he could get).  We called Majerus "Big Splash" and it stuck.  To this day all my friends from McCormick 6th floor circa 1981 (including Doc Rivers) called him that.  I wonder if Doc still remembers that.  Haven't talked to him in a while.
