My other school (University of Michigan) just hired a new basketball coach and a new football coach over the past year and a half.  I can tell you that it was a complete pain in the butt and it will stress you to the point that you will question why you even care so much.  With that said, here is some advice I have that helped me.

1) Understand that the old coach is gone and not coming back
2) Come to the conclusion that some players will leave and you will also lose some recruits.  It sucks, but it is going to happen
3) Don't jump at the first name that is mentioned (Les Miles)
4) The media generally knows as much as the average person - (see Les Miles AGAIN)
5) ESPN blows
6) There are people out there that really want the job that is available
7) Stay away from recruiting boards for awhile
8) Drink a fair amount of beer
9) Understand that it will get better and life will move on

That is some good advice.

I'm gonna spend some love and energy on the Brewers for a while.  I'll be back when the dust settles.  This is too hard.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

That sounds like a plan.  Along with number 8 in the list above!  Maybe number 8 should be bold and moved higher in the list?   ;)

I'll be honest, during the Basketball search I probably went through 4 cases of Miller Lite.  During the football search I went through at least 9 of them.

Thank you for the advice. I may start with a Peroni with my lunch.
But I like to throw handfuls...

Completely agree. Since I am powerless to change anything, wake me when we hire a coach. I'll decide if this is a good thing or a bad thing then. I am optimistic this is going to work out very well for us, but i guess we'll see.

Cubs-Brewers 1:20 today and tomorrow. Opening day on Friday. Tom Crean? Never heard of him.

Keep your heads high, we will get through this.

10) Stay away from internet message boards   ;)

Good point Chicos, but if you do need to use them, have a beer near   ;D
