Every other analyst in the national media say that, "Crean probably took Marquette as far as they can go."

What the hell is with all of these shots at Marquette?! We've won a national championship and been to multiple final fours, we're not the puny mid-major people are making us out to be in the news.

As if its bad enough that we got crapped on by Crean, now the media is doing the same.
"Marquette is bigger than any one person. Marquette is Marquette."

NavinRJohnson

This is pretty much what it comes down to though isn't it? Crean's leaving signals to me that he seemed to think so (along with the fact that he loves money). What is more important is what MU's administration thinks as that will dictate how they approach this hire. I think there may still be some additional potential in the right hands, and I hope we find out.

The operative word is probably.
What is not true about that statement? He took us to a Final Four. First since 1977. We may not like it, but MU is not IU. Plain and simple.

Carl Spackler

I think the phrase should be interpretted as: "Tom Crean took MU as far as Tom Crean could take MU."

I think a different coach with good/better recruiting and better X/Os can take MU farther.
