Indiana just kicked off two players, I'm willing to bet either Williams and Taylor possibly sign with the hoosiers.  I would say James is now likely gone, and McNeal will be more liberal about his draft stock......this ain't good hombres.

The good news: The scholarship situation should be resolved.

ChicosBailBonds

Technically none, they sign with the university not the coach.

However, this is again where a seasoned AD comes into play, not someone that has never been there.  Will the AD that has never done this before let them out of their commitments or will he hold them to it.

Ahh.....as I've said oh so many times, be careful what you wish for.  Some people here are loving this, we'll see where IU and MU are in 5 years from now.  Hopefully both in their current arc paths, but I have a feeling that might not be the case.  Tom will win there and hopefully our new guy will as well.  One thing is for certain, the media gravy train we had the last 9 years....that is probably gone, but that too will please a lot of people.

True about signing to the university, but schools usually are liberal about releasing when coaches leave.  Fulce and Otule are in with williams(assuming he doesn't leave with Crean), but I could see either taylor, williams, or both following their head coach.

No way, unless MU has moved away from the 'Cords Doctrine'.

Cords didnt let players out of LOIs, it was policy at MU under him......I'd be surprised if that changed so abruptly now.

Can we hire Cords back in an advising role for a couple of months?  I don't trust a Badger with one year of AD experience to get us a good coach or retain our players.

Also to note, Scout listed Taylor as a Buzz Williams recruit, though they could be mistaken.  Williams' track record with Fulce, in terms of commiting to a coach and not a program, suggests that unless Williams is promoted or somehow retained as an assistant, we're going to have recruits begging to be released from their LOIs.

We are going to lose some if not all.  It happens everytime there is a change.  I can respect a kid wanting out of his scholarship when something like this happens.

We'll see how Crean handles our recruits. Will he do the right thing and urge them to honor their commitment?

But PRN, you can't have it both ways....they want to play for Crean...you know, the guy you don't like and the guy you don't think can coach.  They think he can.

But again, shouldn't be a problem because there are probably 400,000,000 coaches out there that can step right in...I hear there has never been a shortage of incredible candidates.

Tim Buckley will definitely head to IU with Crean given his ties to the state.

Very sad day for MU. Sadder day for B11 fans not from IU. Crean will win national titles there...no doubt in my mind.

That's always been my worst nightmare, MU old diehards screaming for old glory run the guy off, he goes to a KU or KY or IU and wins national titles while we become DePaul, St. John's or whatever.  I don't think the latter will happen, but I have no doubt in my mind that Crean ends up in the Final Four again.

PuertoRicanNightmare

Please...Buzz Williams got two of those recruits inside 2 months, despite Crean's "tireless" work ethic.

Not a chance.....the big ten has one 1 national title in the last 20 years, and the hoosiers haven't even been relevant since Knight left.  Why will Crean all of a sudden become supper man at IU?  He'll be lucky to go to the final four again.

Not to nitpick but the Big 10 has 2 championships in the last 20 years and 3 within the last 21

Indiana- 1987
Michigan- 1989
Michigan State- 2000

Ok, I was going off the top of my head.....but with UCONN and Cuse the big east has won 3 in the last ten years... This emphasis on tradition is nice, but the big ten is going down hill.  Big east, Pac ten, ACC, big 12 and SEC are better conferences.

You know some of you have to look at the postive side of life. Fine we lose a couple of recruits, dont you think if MU is have smart they will hire a good recruiter and HIS recruits will follow him. Take Miller for example. He has a 6'11 guy coming and if Miller comes here dont you think that guy would be estatic to got to a much bigger program like MArquette??? I would think so. and I can't remember do we need a half decent big man???

I agree Chicos. TC brought some much publicity to MU. He will win at IU. Those that hated TC are living large, but I have a feeling it might be a different song they sing in a few years.
