Hurts to see the replays of this game but seeing how upset Burke was after giving up the last 2 points to Lopez makes me think he'll come in next year with a chip on his shoulder.  I hope he spends the offseason working out, getting stronger & quicker, and working on free throws.  I see a lot of minutes for him in his senior season and I think he can be a force if he dedicates himself in the offseason.  Fire up Dwight... we need you!!

Yeah - as I said in another post, Burke did feel so bad - but it comes down not to just that last shot - but lots of other things that could have determined the outcome.

Burke played pretty well tonight - I thought he was keeping Lopez out of the paint pretty well.  This was a tough mission for our guys - go slay the giants - and they just about did it.  They played well.  Proud of this team

My guess is Burke is good friends with Barro, hurts to have a player like Ousmane, who has done nothing but work his ass off for this team, have to watch his last game.  My guess is Burke, and the rest of the team, didn't want to see Ouse go out like that, I think this team comes back strong next year.

Burk acquitted himself rather nocely at the end of the year. Hopefully he continues to improve, because we are gonna need him.

WarriorHal

How tall is Burke...really? He's listed at 6' 8" and 250 lbs., but more often than not, it looks like he is trying to guard players that are much, much bigger than he is.

TallTitan34

I thought Burke did a nice job on Lopez tonight.  He defended him the best he could on that final shot.  I can't fault him for that.

Here's to a great senior year next year for Burke!

I would expect Burke to start next year. He improve a lot and strikes me as a player who is really going to work hard in the offseason. I am also hoping that O'Tule will work his way into the starting lineup by conference time. I think Mbakwe's knee will not be sound enough for him to start.

Why do you think this? Next season doesn't start for over 6 months. I would bet Mbakwe's knee will start feeling really good in about 3 more months. By that time,I expect he won't need the brace anymore.

Big Papi

Mbakwe has stated that his knee is at about 85% right now and he hasn't had a setback.  Why would it not be better by November?

Bilsu are you some sort of physician, therapist or are you just blowing smoke?

I think Burke could shed some weight and bulk up. He'd be hard to deal with.

But the FT issue is something - I think - we (and he) are just going to have to live with.

I think the fact that Mbakwe basically did not play in the Big East tournament or NCAA tournament means something is not right. You do not waste not  redshirting a player you are not planning to use in the post season. That is all I am basing it on.

muwarrior87

this is all speculation on your part. if you had some sort of proof showing why Trevor will not be healthy SIX months from now I may believe it but even if his knee is 60-70% healthy and he did have a setback that we haven't heard about, the majority of what he's going to be doing over the summer is taking a couple classes and working on his fitness and skill set.  I don't see how you could think he wont be ready six full months from now.
