I like to look at the Conference records at the Sweet 16, and also include the NIT up to the Final 8.  After that, you usually have top teams so it is hard to compare since one great team can make a weak conference look good.

I think my numbers are correct below....

Conference   1st Rd   2nd Rd   NIT    Overall

Big East        7-1       3-4       2-0    12-5

PAC-10         3-3       3-0       3-0     9-3

Big 12           6-1       2-4       1-1     9-6

SEC              3-3       1-2       3-0     7-5

ACC              3-1       1-2       2-2     6-5

Big Ten          3-1       2-1       1-1     6-3

After looking at these, I would say the PAC-10 and Big East are proving to be the top conferences, with the edge to the PAC-10.  The ACC has proven to be pretty overrated this year.  I would say the Big 12, SEC, and Big Ten have been pretty even, though the Big Ten has only five wins overall in the post season.

Your NIT record is wrong. It should be 2-1. Surprisingly Cincinatti got a bid with a losing record. They lost by three in a first round road game.

Cincinnati is not in the NIT, they are in the new CBI tournament.  Pretty much the same thing but not sure if MarquetteDano included that in his standings

Small correction.  The Big 10 was 3-1 in the 1st round and 2-1 in the 2nd round.  Their total record should be 6-3.

Thanks for the update... I made the changes.  And I did not count the CBI tournament since I like to compare Apples to Apples from previous years.
