As far as a seed for the NCAA's? I'm just hoping for a 6 seed. I think we might come up a little short for a 5.

NavinRJohnson

I'm thinking 5, but hoping for a 6. The good new is, I don't think this one ultimatley has any impact. Had we won tomorrow we would have moved up. Had we lost (which we would have), no change.

5.
4-6 because they can move us one spot to fit it in, but I will put large money on a 5. And definitely closer to a 6 than a 4.

Hopefully 6,no one wanted to listen to me when I said the 6 is better then the 5.the 6 worked better for us then the 5 would have in the BET and it will in the NCAA.We can definitely beat some of the 3 seeds out there.

ecompt

I think a solid 6. I will be really ticked off with a 7.

Fox Valley Warrior

I don't think that we are in the top 20 right now. We're damn close, but not in it.
If were not in the top 20 we're not a 5.

NavinRJohnson

Add up the team you know will be ahead of us, add 2 or 3 to that to offset your MU bias, and divide by 4. I come up with the following (in no particular order)...

UNC
Memphis
UCLA
Tennessee
Texas
Wisconsin
Duke
Georgetown
Kansas
Xavier
Vandy
Louisville
UConn
MSU
Stanford
Drake (likely)
Pitt (likely)
Butler (probably)

That's 18 + 3 = 21. Divided by 4 = 5.25 which translates to a 6 seed. A 5 seed if I am more objective than I give myself credit for.

You can get good or bad matchups at any seed.  I want the highest one possible.  I'd rather play a 12 than an 11 and I'd rather play a 4 than a 3.  Your reasoning was that we would eventually have to face a 1 - that's still 2 weeks from now and not something to worry about until we can get past the first 2 games.  And even still a 6 would have to face a 2 in that spot.  Depending on the seeds that come out Sunday, there can/will be some 2's out there that would be just as hard as a 1.

That said, I think we are a 5-7, probably 6.

I'd be pissed if Pitt (they have NY kids) gets a better seed than us.  This was the worst officiated game I've seen in a long time.

I think we are a solid five seed. Six at the lowest, but this year, after being hosed the last two years, I think we get a five. A six gets us too tough a first round match-up...then again, that's just it. It's all about the match-up.

They will. Remember, they do seed the team that will be playing in the tournament. They played without Fields for 6 weeks, and are obviously playing as well as anyone right now. They may ultimatley end up with the same number next to their name, but bad officials or no bad officials, at this point, they probably deserve to be seeded higher than us.

I say the only way that happens is if they win tomorrow. The Cinci and Rutgers losses will bite them. Just because they didn't have Fields doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I think we can safely add Clemson to the list. I am going to add Wahingon State as well.  Therefore...

20 + 3 = 23. Divided by 4 = 5.75 which is still a 6, but by a very narrow margin. I really want a 6, but if Arkansas wins tomorrow, I'd say we will probably end up a 7.

Truthfully, the biggest question marks in my mind are the two Big 10 teams I do not have on the list (Indiana and Purdue). I would put MU ahead of both, and hopefully my 3 team fudge factor addresses that, but it is real tough to say what he committee will think of those teams. The way Indiana has finished, I personally would stick them in an 8-9 game, but I'm not sure the committee will agree.
