Don't know if this has been posted, but I absolutely would love this bracket for us.  2nd round versus an Indiana team I think we match up well with, then a Tennessee team that would be the "easiest" of the 1's for us to beat and then a Duke team we've proven we can hang with.  Finally Memphis in the final four, a match-up that's easier for us than NC or UCLA.

If I was laying out a bracket for us to win the whole thing this year, this is exactly what I would want.

We're cutting down the nets baby ;)

If you look at the brackets, the other 4 seeds are UCONN, ND, Purdue and Indiana.  We wouldn't be faced up against the first 2, but I'd have no problem pairing up with the two Big 10 teams.
If the bracket is accurate, the key is winning on Sat and doing well in the tourney to make sure we get at least a 5.  i'd hate to be a 6 seed and faced with playing Stanford in the 2nd round.

Not that it would happen this year, but starting this season, teams from the same conference can meet each other in the 2nd round. It would take (I think), more than 8 teams from the same conference to make it for that to be a possiblility.

MU vs Umass....that game would break 200 point barrier.  They are a run and gun team.

The guy in the office next to me is a UMASS guy and just came over to tell me about bracketology....that would be an interesting game.

I'd LOVE to see Wisconsin take on Washington State in round 2.  Has any 2 seed not made it out of the first weekend two straight years?

however UMASS is a tough round 1 opponent, and the 5 v 12 is always scary, the coach in me screams "1 game at a time", but yes, as fans we can look ahead.

looking and seeing that Cuse is part of the last four out... this game is HUGE for them, they are going to play tough.

UMass would be a great draw ... They are a running team and play in transition.

The more I think about it, UMass is the prefect match up for a first round tournament game for this MU team.

there should, and in my opinion will, be one BE team as a 2 seed. it is ridiculous if the winner of the best conference in the country, with the most teams in the dance, isnt on the 2 line. I know Joey brackets its pretty money and his predictions are up to this point, but if your telling me that Louisville or Georgetown, depending on who wins saturday, isnt on the 2 line your crazy. Esp over wisconsin and texas. My guess is that Georgetown wins at home, even though i feel louisville is the better team, but i wouldnt be surprised if louisville wins the BE tourney. Then it becomes a crapshoot with who is seeded higher and if either gets a 2. That said, Duke (assuming they lose to UNC) Texas, and wisconsin should still be jumped by one of the two BE teams if that team wins the reg season and conf tourney.

Does anyone remember where Joey brackets had MU seeded last year before the dance?

March 11, 2007 he had MU as a 6 seed against Texas Tech.

UMASS got whomped on by one of our cupcakes.  If we played a Big 11 school instead of IUPUI our Pomeroy RPI would have been 19 instead of 20

True, but UMASS also beat Syracuse.  I guess we'll see how we do tomorrow against them.

Any RPI Geeks out there able to project what Syracuse is gonna do to our RPI/SOS, and vice versa? I know they are just outside the Top 50 at the moment. Obviously games to be played yet, but it would be nice to get a win and get them into the Top 50 at the same time.

I had the green font on...I still think IUPUI was the most underrated team we played all year.  Hill is a stud.  POY in the Summit.

That game's not good for those of us who live in Wisconsin, though. It's either a week of Rodent loving or a week of Tony Bennett loving for the following five days. How about they both lose opening weekend instead?

FWIW, Syracuse is 85th on Jerry Palm's SOS impact chart. So of the 341 D1 teams, they have the 85th-best impact on MU's strength of schedule.
