Evan Anderson

Currently watching Eau Claire North vs. Tosa East in the WIAA Tourney. Have to admit this is my first time seeing Anderson play.

Observations are as follows:
Classic back to the basket center.
Runs the floor very well.
Shoots left-handed and has bricked a couple of free throws (would definitely fit in on our team).
Looks physically mature and his feet are so large you could probably water ski on them without skis.
Has made some real nice passes and this may be one of strongest parts of his game as he only averages 8ppg.
Jumps OK, but not great.
Seems fundamentally sound with good basketball IQ.
Physically resembles Brian Butch in appearance (polar bear looking), but meatier than Butch at a similar stage of life.
Probably a long shot for Crean to reel in. Looks like a perfect, typical Bo Ryan big white boy.

I saw part of that game as well.

He looks like he could be Butch's little brother.  They even walk the same.

I think it would go against nature for him to go anywhere but Madison.

Then again, someone was able to make Jimmy Mac turn away from the dark (red) side, so who knows.

Just a feel and nothing more from the Western portion of the state, but I would think Wisconsin-Madison is the clubhouse leader for Anderson.

Stanley (his hometown) and Eau Claire are very close (90 miles) from Univ of Minnesota.....and most of the athletes from that area have a history of going to UM.  Give Tubby another year to bring UM more respectability, and they will be a factor in his college choice.

Tony Walls played in that game as well and is a very smart player. Excellent passer and floor leader. Makes good decisions with the ball. He will be a nice addition as a walk on.

This is one big Wisconsin kid I think we have a real good chance in getting.  I just don't get the sense that he is UW's all wrapped up like I did with Butch, Steimsma, Nankivil and others.

That would explain it.  I don't frequent the badger boards much but you can usually tell when they have someone wrapped up and in Evan's case I haven't seen the winks and nudges that you normally see.
