FYI - HIPAA - "Athlete injuries are covered under HIPAA when handled by medical professionals, athletic trainers, or other covered entities, but not necessarily by sports teams or organizations themselves."If the college athelete gives the OK then the info can be released. Most professional teams have the requirement to release injury information ASAP. College athletic teams are not under this obligation. There are some conferences that require availability reports (Not the BEAST). The NCAA does require notice of fatalities and catastophic injuries.
