Sad, the one true achievement in this program's history is 50 years old.  Those of you old enough to actually have witnessed it and remember it will be dead soon.

Marquette is celebrating the 50 year anniversary on February 26 vs Villanova, which will also be senior night.

Does anyone know if new uniforms are actually happening for this season - or are they just rolling them out for the "anniversary game" against Villanova?

All of the media day / social media images have them in their current uniforms. They likely would have rolled out new unis by now, right?

Unless this is some sort of big dramatic surprise unveiling for the season opener (like Notre Dame football vs. USC in 1977)? ... Apologies for the ND reference in this thread.

The Jordan Brand extension release mentioned "the men's and women's basketball programs will both feature new uniform designs in the upcoming seasons, beginning with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1977 National Championship team in 2026-27."

It says the new uniforms will come in the upcoming seasons (not necessarily this season) and will begin with the 1977 celebration.

Reading that, I would assume it will begin with the already confirmed 1977 celebration jersey followed by new jerseys in the following seasons.

The retro golds, player blacks, and player baby blues were all released mid-season.  I'd guess the 1977 jersey will be as well.

Pretty clear they aren't happening this year. Sounds like we'll maybe get some throwbacks and a player designed kit, but no new regular uniforms.

I guess I was reading that word (seasons) as it pertaining to the men's AND women's season(s)... not necessarily men's basketball future seasons.

But, maybe you are correct. They did not follow that sentence with "respectively."

I guess we will find out soon enough.

They already showed photos from the promo shoots in last year's uniforms. They wouldn't shoot promos in the old uniforms if we were getting new ones.

Let's find a Federal District Judge to overturn the ban. What was to prevent any other team at the time to have "bumblebee" uniforms and even the so called advantage? I bet if UCLA had those uniforms, the NCAA would have looked the other way despite winning 10 titles.
