Whether you want to define Player of the Year by value or impact, I think Kam has been not only the best player in the Big East this season, but in the modern Big East.

Great stuff!  Thank you!

Kam will be missed.  As will the other seniors.

Next year will definitely be a reset for the program.

In terms of his biggest competition for the award, who does that sit with? Zuby?

Probably RJ Luis, maybe also Ryan Kalkbrenner.

Showing ignorance... Who votes for BEPOY?

Followup - how do they think? I can see Kolek got the award on metrics *and* subjectives (like reputation, likability, hype, etc). Kam might win on "metrics-until-you're-blue-in-the-face" but think he might be challenged on the subjective stuff. Not fair but if the voters are a fickle bunch?

Like Kalkbrenner. I would rather have Kam and Kalk hasn't been all that. But he has the rep and some hype.

The Big East coaches vote on it. I'm going to guess less analytically savvy coaches like Sha, Kim, Cooley, Matta, and Pitino don't help Kam's case.

Not sure who he'll vote for but Ed said in the postgame on Tuesday that Kam was the best player on the floor, and "played like a 1st Team All American and Player of the Year in our league."

Thanks for this in-depth study. Most of us knew how wonderful Kam has been, but I for one wasn't aware of how well the objective data confirmed my eye test.

Now, if only there was a way to get this analysis in front of the coaches' eyes.

At least we know Sha won't vote for Richmond.
