The Sultan

I find it both surprising, yet not very surprising, that Dan Bernstein lost his job at WSCR because he threatened a guy on Twitter over picture of a fish he caught. Wierd and mental behavior.

I always knew it was going to end weirdly for Bernstein and the Score. Never imagined a large pike would be involved though.

Was always a big fan of Boers and Bernstein but Dan has changed since Terry retired.  And not for the better.

He's had a couple of bizarre incidents the past few years.

A bit of a Keith Olberman complex.

Sad that a cesspool like Barstool has worked so hard to bring him down.

My brother is friends with a producer at The Score, and after the Barstool incident, the producers for Bernstein/Holmes made the decision to only put callers on the air that they knew. You'd hear Bernstein say "Look who's out today, it's NIU Dave, haven't heard from him in a while!". Producers were texting known friends of the show, who they knew wouldn't call Dan "Bernstein". Holmes hated this, and it was a big reason he wanted to change to afternoons.

I have a friend who is on the board at Camp One Step, and texted me this week saying "We can't keep him on the board when he's attacking someone's kids, when our mission is to support children".

Nobody worked hard to bring him down, he brought himself down by becoming an increasingly arrogant, delusional, narcissistic pretty boy across the board.  And that's coming from someone who listened to B&B nearly every day and enjoyed Bernstein despite his knack for being ornery and cranky.

And for what it's worth, he didn't get into it with Portnoy or another Barstool firebrand. He attacked a gregarious Chicago guy who's really well liked across Chicago media, has never been the source of any controversy and actively tried to avoid it, and was a huge Bernstein fan himself.

I agree it was all his own fault - that's why I compared him to Olberman.

But Portnoy has been after Bernstein for a couple years.
