Quote from: The Lens on December 05, 2024, 08:46:27 AMWith all due respect, we can't just project that Clarke will have passed Caedin by...next year at this time CH will have 40+ high level games under his belt and JC will most likely struggling to find his way.

Good thing no one did that.

Look, I hope that Caedin figures it out. I do see why Shaka likes him. He just was overwhelmed last night, and giving him "props" for setting a screen feels like a reach.

It was one helluva screen though

Whole thread dedicated to a screen lmao

Quote from: The Lens on December 05, 2024, 08:46:27 AMAs for the 3's...he keeps taking 'em.  And he keeps playing.  Those are system 3's not Caedin 3's.

They were also system 3's for Oso, and those quickly were taken out of the offense. When it's someone like Ben, for whom pulling up immediately looks instinctual, I'm in favor. Caedin, like Oso, looks like he thinks about the shot before taking it. That rarely seems to lead to success, IMO. I get that it's probably part of the offense, and I'm sure he's made them in practice, but I don't like that shot 10-12 seconds into the offensive set (Tre got the defensive rebound at 10:50, Caedin shot it at 10:38). That's going to be there the entire possession, and our offense should be able to find a higher percentage look than that given the amount of time left on the shot clock. If there are 10 seconds left, go for it. 20? Hard pass.

Big Papi

What is the saying....bigs take longer to develop.  Oso Senior year was light years better than Oso redshirt freshmen year.

Hamilton will develop and be very solid for us.  Keep giving him spot minutes and hope for 1-2 or really good moments in the minutes he plays.  That screen was a really good moment.

Quote from: tower912 on December 05, 2024, 07:53:35 AMShaka has taken 4 projects.  Keeyan, Amadou, Hamilton, Clark.  All are long, athletic, without extensive basketball backgrounds.   If you are going to sign projects, those are the ones to sign.

Clark strikes me as much different than the other three guys. Time will tell.

I was more impressed with his quickness.  Granted it was only the one clip, but Kam shook him twice and both times he recovered to block him.

While we're discussing the screen, help me out here.  We were at BWW in Pewaukee and couldn't hear the commentators.  Why was that even a foul?  He did not extend the arms, and he appeared to be set.  We surmised the refs blew the whistle because of the dramatic flop and then on review there was NO foul.  Can they not reverse the call?  What did you all think?

The foul was on ISU. The ISU guy reached in and slapped Stevie's arm. During the subsequent dead ball, they reviewed Caedin's screen and determined it was fine. Stevie then shot a one on one.

Ah, that's right.  Thanks

Same, it's the combination of height, length, and fluidity of movement that stood out to me.
