Even by my own standards, this is an extremely nerdy post. But I wanted to quantify how rare MU's gap between offensive and defensive time of possession was, and it indeed lived up to the title's billing.

32.6% of MU's shots happen in transition (with a eFG% of 59%). In comparison, 21.9% of MU's opponents' shots happen in transition.

Transition is defined as first 10 seconds.

A shorter shot clock would benefit MU tremendously.

Yet last years team, with OMax's full-court pressure help, effectively created a shorter shot clock in the half court. And this year's Defense is ranked even higher. Your point is still correct. Would be scary good with a shorter clock.

Every game I watch how fast Mu shoots the ball and when they are clicking, it was pretty amazing.

I know we can't be good at everything...but think how scary MU would be if we had slightly better defensive rebounding?  So heartbreaking when they force a shot as the shot clock goes off only to give up 2 points to an offensive board.

Happened a few times in the @UConn game, and some of those were their center doing imitation-Oso tip-outs that simply got lucky. When Oso does it, it's crafty,  extremely well-directed and usually ends up in the hands of a MU perimeter player for an extended Marquette possession. When Klingan did it, he was kind of hitting and hoping and got good results more often than not.

Yeah, there are few bigger backbreakers than that - working your ass off to.force a terrible shot late in the clock and then giving up an easy 2 on the O board. Only thing worse os when they get o board, run another long clock w late miss and then give up the 2
