David Joplin's impact this season has been relatively muted, and it wasn't just fans saying so. Has Shaka and co unlocked a new level with Joplin? I dig into a few stats to see what has changed.

Oh yeah Jop is turning into an all around positive, His defense has improved, his shot is back, and thats all he REALLY needs. All the other stuff is just gravy, and I love gravy.

CBP profile my people who landed here over 100 yrs before Mayflower. Most I've had to deal with are ignorant & low IQ.
Can't believe we're living in the land of F 452/1984/Animal Farm/Brave New World/Handmaid's Tale. When travel to Mars begins, expect Starship Troopers

I'm guessing Phil from Scrambled Eggs was a sponsor of this article.

Great stuff.  I do think this all comes back to TK. When he has his swagger on and when his shots fall it opens everything up and Jop and Kam's (then everybody else's) start to fall.

Not taking anything away from Jop or your great analysis but I do think shooting is contagious (good and bad) and the rest of the team goes as TK goes.

Great read. The halo effect of his usage in his recent play also had a residual effect on the overall offense.  Simply put, when Jop stopped trying to be Omax's replacement and started be the Jopwagon, the light was turned on.

The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

I also think TK is openly and vocally supporting Jop more of late. TK was in his funk and perhaps it affected others more than it seemed. Perhaps Jop turning it around a bit caused teammates to rally for his success. My gut says it's both.

Man just listen to that Shaka interview with Jen Lada, linked inside the Jop article.  Not sure how anyone could listen to Shaka and not come away thinking:  What a brilliant guy.  I mean his thoughts are so well articulated and brilliant it is a pleasure to listen to him talk.  Marquette hit the jackpot.

Fortunately for MU, Longhorn Scoop didn't feel that way.

Longhorn scoop was like Kansas scoop during the Texas game - they could not stand Shaka. It was nice to remind them that Shaka has never lost to a big 12 opponent.
