Agree Goose.  Shaka will get the big time local players again. They just need to win big in the NCAA.  This will start this year, hopefully.  A final four at MU would add a ton of cache to his recruiting pitch after doing it at VCU as well.

Locals can be a huge presence at MU when their careers are over.  Look at Diener and Novak with the NIL initiative.  They are local and active supporters.  Visible at games.  That means something.  It is important to have a few impact locals choose MU for this reason alone.

Very good point with the Diener and Novak comments. Very good point made by TAMU regarding locals listening to "their High School circles".

It would have been great to get Kon, but I thought of him much more as high level recruit than a local that we had a big advantage of landing. The idea that we are somehow almost entitled to preferential consideration by local recruits like Kon simply does not make sense to me.
