The Pitt game was on TimeWarner a couple nights ago.  I really enjoyed watching it again because when you are at the game and tensed up wondering if we're going to win its hard to tell sometimes what is really happening on the floor.
What was amazing to me was how effective the pick and roll was against Pitt.  MU just pick and rolled Pitt to death.  I didn't think a pick and roll was supposed to be effective against a zone.  I don't know if it was because Pitt as pushing out so far into the perimeter but over and over again they ended up with 3 defenders out near the ball at the 3 point line and the picker with a clear lane to the basket.  Pitt is not "bad" defensively".  Why did this work so well in that game and doesn't seem to work in others.  For instance St John's played a zone a lot of the time and MU didn't seem to be able to pick and roll them.  Any thoughts?

Funny, I just watched it again this afternoon while transferring it from my TiVo to a DVD.

Some of the best offensive movement I've seen from Marquette this year. It truly seemed like everything was working.
