I absolutely know where wades was going with his thread, and he was so right about how gritty our win over UConn was.

But quite some time ago, I don't even remember exactly when it was, I reached a point with Shaka and our team that I stopped being surprised by their accomplishments. Our group's ability to rise to the moment became the exact opposite of unbelievable -- I not only believe it, I expect it.

I know there's a lot of defensiveness and hesitation on Scoop from folks who feel they have been burned in the past, but this isn't the past. We are fortunate that we get to cheer on one of the half-dozen best teams in the nation, one fully capable of winning 6 games between March 16 and April 3.

Obviously, I know there are other outstanding teams and I know anything can happen in a tournament game ... but I like to look at the glass as completely full: There isn't one team out there that our guys are incapable of beating. Believe it.

Going into today's action, just about everyone had jumped on the UConn bandwagon. And yet there our guys were, going toe-to-toe with UConn despite the BEPOY, the BE 6th man of the year and our wonderful center all being in foul trouble, despite the refs having a very poor game that favored our opponent, and despite UConn playing in front of essentially a home crowd.

That we emerged victorious through all the adversity? Very believable. We've seen it time and time again.

I can't wait to do my NCAA tournament bracket next week because I already know who is going to be on the championship line. And it ain't gonna be UConn.

Believe that!

This Marquette squad will go nose to nose with any team in the land.

We R Final Four

Great to see those who took a verrry long time to get over the Abilene Christian loss....fully onboard.

Didn't take me that long, but sure.

Believe.

ESPN had an article this week that included Marquette in the list of 8 teams that could win the whole thing.  At the time, I thought it was cool we were on the list but took it with a grain of salt.  After tonite, I am convinced that we can play with any team in the country.

Agreed.  I wasn't surprised at all with the result.

Winning the game scoring 7pts in the final:7:45 though is pretty incredible.

Maybe tomorrow the FS1 crew will admit the BET championship goes through the #1 seed and not #4.   Maybe.

Winning the game wasn't unbelievable. How we won was unbelievable. I thought UCONN had a legit shot to win a national title, and still do. If you told me Oso and Kolek would miss a lot of time in both halves with foul trouble I would've told you it was a double digit loss. The team has fight, which I never doubted. But that would've been a losing proposition to me. Good thing the team didn't feel that way.

Opening my heart and allowing myself to be hurt again has been so rewarding.

I got what Wades was going for. It wasn't the victory that was unbelievable, it was the stat line that went with the victory.  Like the preseason 9 makes the regular season #1 sweeter, this victory has a little "extra" that makes it special.  F' Em!
