Major 7 car train derailment Monday in northern Missouri. Amtrak's Southwest Chief travelling from LA to Chicago struck a large truck and went over. At least 3 died and many injured.

The sidebar was that 2 Troops of Boy Scouts from Appleton were on the train, returning from an outing in Kansas. They immediately sprung into action administering first aid and carrying people off the train to safety. Pretty impressive for 14-15 year old kids who themselves must have been scared chitless. Appleton should be proud of these kids.

I hope they get more badges for that.

Good for them.    They should be proud of what they did and their parents should be proud of them.

It is my experience that teenagers are more adaptable than many adults.   And more willing to pitch in.    Give them a task.
