Three games, no post ups.   So, will MU ever post up against a man defense?   Will they feed the post?  When?  Who will be the recipient?

I think it will be Justin against a cupcake.
Fearless and cheerful because it is so much fun.

ChitownSpaceForRent

Honestly I'd rather have Morsell post up a smaller guard a-la Jordan if given the matchup.

Probably the best finisher on the team.

It slows down possessions too much and there isn't a great candidate on the team to do it consistently. Kolek's ability to get inside off the bounce and kick out/reverse/skip the ball is basically the same as a post up kick out.

Lewis has backed his man down a few times. Got called for a borderline charge last game, but he's scored on at least a couple occasions. Obviously not the same as posting up.

I like Chitown's idea, too. Morsell could overpower some guards.

But it looks like Shaka simply feels posting guys up is unnecessary.

5DollarPitcher

We are a mostly undersized team whose strength is athleticism and slashing, not back to the basket post play.

Unless we are playing an even further undersized team - why would we make that a priority?

jfp61

Lewis will have some, but theyll be irregular. Rim and 3s rate is at 90%, so feeding the post isnt a priority unless the matchup makes sense

5DollarPitcher

Our tall guys aren't strong and our strong guys aren't tall.

No one outside of Morsell and maybe Lewis has the footwork to overcome that, and I'd rather those two play drive and dish than become ball stopping post players.

tower912

It is clear that Shaka's philosophy is lay ups and 3's.
Fearless and cheerful because it is so much fun.

tower912

Sort of fed Justin in the wide post once.

May as well count it.
Fearless and cheerful because it is so much fun.

Newsdreams

3's and slashing seems to be it. Our "5" guys are seen mostly as D guys and after thoughts on offense, just there to clean it up and did better on that department last night.

I really doubt it, the only way we really score paint points are lobs to Kur (that he rarely finishes.) and layups from Kolek and Darryl.
