In the world of immediate transfer eligibility, it's hard to imagine the 9 scholarship freshmen at Marquette will all complete their eligibility at Marquette, but with Shaka Smart's focus on culture, will he be better at retaining players year over year than other coaches? Cracked Sidewalks looks at the numbers behind Smart's early departures at Texas, as well as both Buzz Williams' and Steve Wojciechowski's tenures at Marquette.

Dr. Blackheart

Buzz had at least five of those departures due to off-court issues. Wojo's issues were mostly due to hubris. It looks to me that Shaka has also learned from his past failings. Glad to have maturity in the Captain's Chair for once.

Nice article, especially as a reference for future Scoop endless loop arguments.
