Over the past few days I've talked to a lot of MU alumni.  Some people that I haven't heard much from in 5 yrs or more.  I totally get that you can't glean a lot from a press conference and I also understand the concerns about Shaka.  FWIW I am hearing a completely different level of optimism about MU hoops since 2012-13.

I've stated this many times the past several years:  Things can change quickly in college hoops.  There are "rebuilds" but we have seen a number of coaches in very short order change the culture and direction of a program.  In light of the  transfer rules this year talent can be acquired immediately.

I for one have always had very lofty goals for MU basketball.  My school of thought is having anything but extremely high goals is a defeatist or stagnant mentality.   The last 8 years have felt like 80 to MU Nation, the time is now.  Starting THIS upcoming season.  We make one big step, move into the upper echelon of the league, and go from there.   I have no doubt Shaka gets it, he will put together a talented roster and sustained success will greet us all this decade.  I believe the renewed enthusiasm is excellent for the program and hope all of our fans are wildly supportive starting this November.

Hearing of renewed enthusiasm among alumni is wonderful.  Shaka can use all the support he can get.  Wojo's job had become increasingly difficult due to the poor support to downright opposition engendered by his poor results.

I am equally glad to hear that you "have no doubt" that Shaka will do what's necessary to bring sustained success.  I am more in the guardedly optimistic camp, rather than certain Shaka will succeed camp, but I too hope that "our fans are wildly supportive starting this November", particularly if things start out slowly as the team adjusts to Shaka's sytems on offense and defense.  Ring on Ahoya!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
