Secret of the Ouse

There is no doubt Deonta Vaughn is Cinci's best player, and at 6-1 we could basically throw any guard we want at him, but I was wondering what you guys thing is going to happen.  I think DJ will guard him for most of the game.  I think DJ has shown the ability to guard the opponents best player, but McNeal is also a solid defender.  So who do you think/want to guard Deonta Vaughn out of the starting five, DJ or McNeal?

No doubt it will be DJ. I notice Cincy likes to set a lot of screens for Vaughn with that freshman 7 foot center they got. Vaughn nails a lot of his threes from the top of the arc behind the screens he sets. Not only his DJ our best on-ball defender(as in hardest to beat off the dribble) but I think he's our best defender fighting around screens. I really like our chances shutting Vaughn down with DJ defending him in this game.

Start with DJ, but I would not hesitate to have any of the four of DJ, Rel, Mo, or Cub guard him.    Send them all and wear him out.

Great point...I think any of these guys will give Vaughn a tough time.

I look for DJ to guard him since he has played against him several times and knows his tendencies.  They both were considered top tier point guards in the state of Indiana during their high school years.  The games that they played against each other in high school were great battles.

Dennis Johnson would be my first choice. But, he's not available. Put James on him. If DJ can't can't score, maybe he can at least defend.
