Will be voted on June 5th, move the line to the International line.

The NIT, the meaningless tournament, has experimented with it the last two years.

Expected to pass the rules oversight panel....no problem for Markus.

That would actually help MU in the short run.

Didn't know that. Curious about the data on it and analysis.

Why.  He shoots far beyond that.  ;)
Exactly—he would have been the best shooter in the country. Eliminate those pu$$ies who need to be close to the line!

I agree with this. All of it helps MU this year.

Topic is a LIE!!!  The move would be more than one foot.

It's a big difference.
Sacar - for one - is a "toes on the line" shooter who may not have the range for the longer shot.  Bailey thinks he has it, and Markus definitely has it.

It's all in the coaching. Good coaches work with their teams to adapt to everything from the rules to the refs. They'll figure out how to win even if the three-point lines moves back to the hash marks.

Bad coaches, well, give a lot of press clippings and get clocked in close games!

When are they going to a  24/14 second shot clock?

Been calling for an extended 3 point line at all levels. Hopefully it passes quickly.

Not soon, but this season it will likely change to a 30/20 shot clock (from 30/30).

It also means defenses will extend further out. More contested shots from distance. No advantage there.

It could open up more driving lanes though and opportunities for mid-range jumpers and post up opportunities. That's where things will change.

Would that be true for the shots in the corner? Would not the player almost be out of bounds?

I would think the same thing...but it's not what we have seen in the NBA.  Try and run teams off the 3pt line, and anyone on the court who can't hit from outside is liability.  Dunks and 3's...teams will adjust...might give an advantage to truly good shooting teams and less of an advantage to a team like Duke had this year?

Surprised the resting of fouls at the 10 minute mark of each half didn't get more of a look.

In NBA playoff games I have seen this season, lots of floaters in the lane, too. McCollum, Harden, Lillard, Curry, etc, all have been taking/making 'em pretty often.

The floater almost has become a mandatory shot for any guard or wing who wants to score, because he will get run off the 3-point line but often won't get all the way to the hoop.

Markus already is quite good at it. We'll have to see about Koby, Bailey and others.

Not sure about the proposal, but I think if FIBA the corner 3 is basically gone, but some have a modified international line where there is still a corner three.

Moving the line out isn't a bad thought and would definitely help MU in the short term.

The FIBA corner 3 is 21'9". Very similar to the NBA corner 3 of 22'.

The NCAA would likely use the same dimensions as the corner 3 for FIBA, but they could go with the NBA length of 22' to minimize the difference in 3-point distance at different positions.
