Mike Deane's Seat Belt

Hate to say it cuz ive dogged on him all year but should tooney be starting.

We have been exposed by teams for not having a real point guard.   He looks fairly confident when he has the ball and is looking to pass.    Anyone else think he should be in the starting 5 at this point?

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Exposed to the tune of a 23-6 record.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

I don't think he should but I think John should be pulled from the starting lineup and sit the first few minutes of the game. He's such a difference maker when he is in there but fouls have been finding him like crazy in the first half the last few games it seems.

Mike Deane's Seat Belt

Right right but in each loss the lack of a real pg has been blatantly obvious.  Touney has the best vision by far. And it pains me to say that but i think he needs more pt.

Not a bad idea for sure!!!  Let the game settle out a bit and see how much banging the refs will allow

In 5 of those 6 losses the problem has been a double team. I'd say this is a reasonable question

TAMU, Knower of Ball

I'm just not of the opinion that you should make major changes to a roster that started 23-4 just because they lost two games, one of which they were projected to lose.

Why are you posting a stat line for a defensive pg?

I'm more impressed by the 1 to as a primary ball handler. Which is what we need.

Didn't Crean used to do this with Ousmane for a year or two?

Markus:  Assist Percentage: 27.2; Turnover Percentage:  15.7%
Chartouny:  23.2%; **34.6%***

I think that speaks for itself.

Before his injury, Greg Elliott was playing well enough to start, according to Wojo.  This is why MU wanted Grimes.  This is why McEwen, Elliott, Akanno will be around next year.  This is why Symir was such a big signing.   When Chartouny  failed to be who we all hoped he would be and GE got hurt, PG became an issue.

Exactly.  I don't think Markus is a great PG by any means.  But you're not changing point guards now.

Greg was never going to be our point. We tried it for 3 minutes last year and we didnt get the ball past half court. I dont know where this thought of elliot is pg savior keeps coming from.

Id like to see that stat compiled for losses vs our wins.

I'm not sure why that matters.

Chartouny is Derrick Wilson with worse defense and more turnovers.

Unlikely to tweak the starting lineup this late in the year.  Could they make a quicker adjustment? Potentially, but only 5 days ago no one here was calling for any of this.  Talk about panic city.  My God.
