Our press break was horrid and the lead shrunk from 13 to ......OMG 10 in 3 minutes. Fire Wojo! If they would have kept that up for another 9 minutes it would have been a one possession game!

It's always fun to read this thread and wonder if y'all are watching the same game I am.

You are such joyless fans.

some of us are at least one or two generations older than you and have higher expectations than a participation trophy.

I'm a millennial and don't expect participation trophies. A lot were given to me by boomers though which was weird.

Right? I'm 28. I never met someone growing up who received a participation trophy and said "Wow! Lucky me!"

Most of those went straight into the trash.

I think my first trophy was a participation trophy for being on a soccer team when I was 5. I was very excited about it at the time because I had never had a trophy before. Then I realized that I was going to get one every time I was on a team of any kind. Then they started going in the trash.

But why the hell do they keep giving them out?

Because all the parents want their kids to have trophies and feel special.

I laughed at this and I'm a boomer.

Then give the trophy to the parents so they can feel even more special. "It must be in the genes"

Or maybe because you want your children (even the ones that aren't destined for athletic greatness) to stay engaged with sports and physical activity so they grow up to be healthy adults?
