Correct, I forgot what powerhouses the CBI draws. Playing in that would have been much more prestigious than no postseason. You should stop posting stupid stuff.

This is weird. You write that I am correct yet also I should stop posting stupid stuff. I empathize with those who suffer from your confusion on a daily basis.

There can be correct statements that support really stupid ideas.  We cannot always see the curvature of the Earth, but unless you're one of them flat earthers, you know that it is curved.

You are technically correct that when Henry was here Marquette got invited to pay to participate in a postseason tournament, however that does not prevent this

DePaul has one of the best players in the Big East conference. Hard to imagine them not playing in the postseason.
from being really stupid.

Basketball is a team sport not an individual one.
Having one of the better players in the conference does not mean that it should be hard to imagine them not playing in a postseason tournament (how'd Stus do today by the way), especially when it is only December.
Despite DePaul being better than they have in recent history, and both X and Gtown being down this year, there is still a very real possibility that DePaul finishes with 6 or fewer Beast wins, and (barring a conference tournament championship) 14 wins will not get you an invite to the postseason NCAA tournament, or the postseason NIT tournament.
Even Depaul is above playing in the CBI.
Any P6 team is above paying to participate in a tournament that last year consisted of Big South, MAAC, Southland, Patriot, Big Sky, WAC, Ohio Valley, Mid-American, C-USA, West Coast, and Summit teams.
Any post that disagrees with the above points is pretty stupid.  Again, please try to refrain from posting stupid stuff (I know it's hard for you).

My first year at TAMU they played in the CBI. Talking to some of the staff they had a grand old time. There were a couple of other high major teams that year IIRC. That may have been the last year a high major participated in the CBI.

No high major has participated in the last three years.  Despite having a decent start in 2008 (Getting UVA, Cinci, Utah and Washington in only a 16 team touney) it is now considered a mid major only tournament.  The most recent high major team was in 2015 when a 15-17 Colorado team lost in the second round.  No Beast team has participated since 2012 when Pitt did.  Irregardless, when one mentions postseason play, the only tournaments that should be considered (unless otherwise noted) should be the NCAA and NIT.  Saying that MU turned down a tournament Henry's year, while technically correct, is wildly misleading.

I'm not actually sure that Marquette was invited to the CBI Henrys year. We're not listed on the declined invitations for that year.

I feel like they had already released a statement saying they would declined any tournament less than the NIT so maybe that why they didn't get invited?
