I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Bo Ryan for prioritizing Brevin Pritzl over Sam Hauser on the recruiting trail.   Rather than watching Sam & Joey lead Marquette to an OT victory this past Saturday, there is a very good chance we could have been watching the two Hausers and Ethan Happ deliver a blowout loss to our Warriors instead.

Bo Ryan and his massage therapist - the gift that keeps on giving!

or maybe thank Wojo and staff for seeing that Sam was going to be a great player and realizing that Joey also is a great player and recruiting them both heavily.  if you believe UW can have any Wisconsin kid they want, then you are correct.  if you believe that MU is on equal footing recruiting Wisconsin kids then you need to give proper recognition.....in addition to thanking Sam and Joey for making a choice both believed was in their best interest.

We R Final Four

There is truth in both of the above.

I don't believe UW can get any in-state recruit they want.  In fact, they have struggled mightily in comparison to MU for in-state kids.

But, from everything I have heard the Hausers (especially Joey) were heavy UW leans prior to Sam's botched recruitment by UW.

Yes. But not only prior to.........during.

It wasn't Pritzl.  Pritzl was in the Class of 2015 and committed to UW over a year prior to Sam Hauser committed to MU, who's class of 2016.

(They are both juniors because Pritzl redshirted his freshman year.)

They didn't have many openings and supposedly needed a PG and went after a couple highly rated ones who went elsewhere.  They ended up landing on Trice as a late signee.  Regardless, it was an enormous mistake not going after Sam.

Right.  Bo took a flier on Andy Van Vliet, which left them with one spot.  Bo wanted to hold it for a PG.  Riley Dearring later transfered, opening up a second spot.

Those two spots went Trice and Ford in the spring after Gard got the gig fulltime.

You are correct.  Different classes.  Sam was '16, Pritzl was '15.  Must have been Payton Pritchard, I knew it started with a 'P'.  lol.

Anyway, thanks Bo, Wojo, Sam & Joey.  Everything worked out perfectly.

Go Warriors.
