Good morning everyone. I believe I posted here once before, but regardless I'm sorry of this is in the wrong spot.

I'm new to the forum, and for the most part Marquette athletics. I've long been a big college basketball fan, so I've seen plenty of Marquette hoops over the years. Being a Bulls fan, I loved when we drafted Jimmy Butler and then watched as he developed into a major player in the NBA. I did go to the BC for a Bulls/Bucks game, but never for a Marquette game. My wife and I love Milwaukee and come up for 5-6 Brewers games every Summer.

I'm finishing up my first graduate level course at Marquette. I still have a few years to go, but I figured now would be a good time to start getting into Marquette hoops as a fan. I'm making my way up for the Wisconsin game on 12/8 and I'm pretty pumped. The reason I'm posting here is to inquire about the best way to get tickets for this game. Looking on the Marquette website, it doesn't look like there are any good single tickets left. There are more options within the Blue mini-plan, but I'm not sure if I'd make it to any of the other games included in that plan. Prices on Stubhub seem pretty high. What do you recommend as far as the best avenue to go down for tickets for this game? I realize they will probably be pretty pricey.

Also, I booked a room at the Hyatt Place just down the street.  I think we'll stop at the Christkindlmarket for a bit right after the game since it's right outside the arena. Any recommendations for a good dinner spot later that evening?

Thanks for the input/suggestions!

As far as dinner, you're going to need to elaborate. If you want a true Milwaukee gem go Points East Pub. If you want somewhere a bit nicer and off the beaten trail check out the restaurants down in Bayview. For tickets I'd say you're going to have to pay a decent bit this close to the game.

You can also check the Trading Post on this site: https://www.muscoop.com/index.php?board=9.0

Sometimes the resale market at gomarquette.com ends up cheaper than StubHub, but maybe not for that game: https://www.ticketsnow.com/marquette-university/resaleorder/marquette-golden-eagles-mens-basketball-tickets/event/511?EID=511

Ultimately, for any high demand game, the prices will drop sharply in the hours before the game. If you are willing to wait until the day of the game, the best price you will find will likely be on StubHub around 2:00 or 3:00 pm. Prices will drop significantly right beforehand. Especially if you're just looking for a single.

As far as dinner, depends on what you're looking for. As far as dining experience, I think Sanford and Ardent are hard to beat, but both are pricy. If you are thinking more tasting plate size, both Odd Duck and Braise are great options a fairly quick Lyft ride from downtown. Another cozy option is Three Brothers, really good food and nice atmosphere. If you want to stay closer to the hotel, just walk up 3rd Street and there are a ton of bars and restaurants.

Personally, I'd pick up a mini plan.  Even if you only get to 3 games you'll be miles ahead.  That's especially true of you need 2 together.  And welcome to Marquette.  Don't be a stranger on scoop.

If you are just looking for a single I would wait until tip-off and grab a ticket from a scalper out in front. Those guys get very desperate once the game starts! I’ve done this a number of times and it never fails.

Either wait til an hour before on stub hub/a scalper as THE THUNG said.

Or do what glow suggests. Get the mini plan if you need 2 by each other. You can try to sell the others but the prices for that game (especially if MU is ranked and UW is decent) will not be cheap.

Thanks for the quick replies. From the looks of it, based on pricing on the secondary market, the smart play is to buy the mini plan from Marquette. The main reason I'm against doing it this way is because the seating options don't look all that great. Money wise, it's definitely the best way to go as I can possibly sell the other games I can't make and it might end up being a wash anyways.

I'll keep researching, thanks!

As far as dinner recommendations, I'm pretty much open to anything.
