I love Marquette
« on: January 12, 2008, 11:34:03 PM »
I was at a bar in Baltimore today....I had to go to a few to find Comcast, most bars seem to have Direct TV...And I sat down with my buddies (none of them are Marquette grads but all old friends, we just got done watching the Chelsea football match from the morning) and some guy just starts laying into me about how Marquette is sh*t and saying is this a high school game...I maintain my tongue (because I do have the east coast curse of harshness) and Marquette did my talking for me...Marquette really stepped up tonight....There may have been some trouble (primarily shutting down Notre Dame's big man - 29 points come on a guy like that should not have 29 points he is a giant goober)...But while we were winning and the guys crap talking just started increasing (he ended up confessing that he got rejected from both Notre Dame and Marquette -40 year old guy)...I was very proud to see the team come together but what made me smile even more was the shots to the crowd and the passion that the fans have for Marquette....So not to sound Tom Creanish and six fanish, lets give a tip off to the crowd, the basketball players gave them the show, but the combination of both demonstrated why Marquette really is an experience ...Well I am going to hop off my soapbox (no tears to dry) but I wanted to mention this...Tell me why you love Marquette chuckles

this is the year to go...enough said. Other than UNC and Memphis maybe, it's wide open. If we're going to make some noise, this is the year.
It's not about ME,
It's about US.

wow - love the enthusiasm, but the WVU game showed that we can be great and lowsy at the same time

Very true mv but with greatness comes weakness...We just have to walk away from that WVU game focusing on the weakness and building upon that and if we successfully do that you will see more games like tonight.

Very true, Baltimore.  Just learn from your mistakes, build on them, and get hot in March.  Things are looking good for MU.

We were lousy at WVU, agreed, but we had a bad game in a tough place to play in a very tough league. It could happen again at Louisville or UConn or Syracuse. No way in hell North Carolina or Memphis would go undefeated in the BE. And no Big Ten team would go better than 11-7.

I also love Marquette!
-Did you hear I finally graduated?
-Yeah, and just a shade under a decade too, all right.
-You know, a lot of people go to college for seven years.
-I know, they're called doctors.

I only have a Marquette infatuation.

I love the basketball team. I have issues with other parts of the University. I can feel like the basketball team is the pretty exterior, but then you get settled in...

From my window we have a pretty good view of Jesus Saves. Anytime you hear a siren after 7:00pm, there's an 87% chance it's going there. I have actual numbers collected over the past year and a half.

I think that might be the saddest post of the day.. in many ways.
